Tahara-City Roadside Station "Michi-no-Eki" Irago Crystal Porto
This roadside station works as both a resting place for road travelers and as terminal connecting the land and sea transportation lines in and out of Atsumi Peninsula. Inside the facility you can find the "Yashi-no-Ki" Palm Tree Museum, and thanks to a joint effort with the Ishigaki City Tourism Association, you can produce from Okinawa. Of course, inside the road station you'll find also local produce from Atsumi Peninsula, snacks and light meals, and a well-thought souvenir shop. Look for the delicious dried sea food, seaweed varieties, clams and other sea produce, and melons, tomatoes and other succulent vegetables of Tahara-City.
Another part of the building is the Irago Port Passenger Terminal, where you are able to buy tickets to board the fast boats going to and fro Kowa Port in Chita Peninsula, and the islands of Himakajima and Shinojima.
