The Unmissable Early-Blooming Plum Trees of Toyohashi!

Within the spacious 1.3 hectares of this park is one of the largest plum orchards in the Eastern Mikawa area of Aichi, home to some 400 plum and cherry trees (sakura and ume) of 29 different varieties, with a mix of early, mid and late bloomers. As such, it is possible to enjoy about a whole month of plum tree blossoms – one of the reasons this park is so famous. Located approximately 2 kilometers from Toyohashi Station, this spot is easy to access using public transportation.
You can go for a leisurely stroll within the plum trees orchard with gazebos, benches, and other rest areas along the way. During the Plum Blossoms Festival, tea stalls make an appearance selling sweets and the like. Furthermore, on February 19 in the middle of the best viewing time, events will be held such as the free distribution of plum tree seedlings and sweet rice liquor "amazake" hospitality, which you can enjoy while gazing up at the plum blossoms in full bloom.

*: Event contents and times subject to change depending on the situation with COVID-19 infections or weather conditions.
*: For updates on current blossoming conditions, please check the official Toyohashi web site or the official Toyohashi Tourism Instagram @toyohashi_kanko.
