Take a tour around buildings and exhibitions, searching for hidden "instances of happiness" and delight in sweetly delicious chocolate treats.

Discover happiness: Memories from the Meiji period in the Searching for Happiness event
Meiji-Mura's buildings and exhibitions hold within them a myriad of instances of happiness. Three courses are set up to let you search for those instances with three instances per course. Use the photos on a sheet given to you as hints, walking around the museum and searching for each instance. Enter a prize drawing upon clearing the course!

Event period: Sat, Dec 23, 2023–Sun, Feb 18, 2024 (excluding days the museum is closed)
Participation registration:
• Location: Main Gate, North Gate (admission ticket box office), and Ministry of Engineering's Shinagawa Glass Factory
• Time: 10:00 am–3:30 pm (reservation at the Ministry of Engineering's Shinagawa Glass Factory from 1:00 pm)
• Price: JPY 500/course (separate admission ticket required)

Happy Winter Tour Around Meiji-Mura

Eat in happiness: Meiji-Mura Chocolate Trip
Japan's first chocolate was produced and sold during the Meiji period. Enjoy the chance to delight in bistro and sweets using chocolate as well as limited-time souvenirs.
The Chocolate Trip treasure hunt is held at the same time, during which you try cuisine and sweets, collecting three stamps on a special sheet. Once you've gotten all three, receive a gift of chocolates at the Steam Locomotive Tokyo Station shop.
The shop of course is full of chocolate related merchandise!

Tour of Traditional New Year Decorations and Shinto Ceremonial Ropes
Traditional New Year decoration and Shinto ceremonial ropes from around Japan help to ring in the New Year at various buildings around the museum.

Period: Tue, Jan 2–Sun, Jan 28, 2024 (Excluding days the museum is closed. New Year decorations available until Mon, Jan 15.)
Venue: 8th High School Main Gate, Toumatsu Home, Uji-Yamada Post Office, etc.
