Watch the surface of the river light up with lanterns and fireworks

Experience a romantic, yet exciting hot summer night of 3,000 exploding fireworks and 1,500 lit lanterns reflected off the surface of the water at the Nishio Yonezu River Festival.

2023 Program

5:00 pm–5:30 pm - Yonezu Elementary School marching band
6:45 pm–7:00 pm - Opening ceremony
7:00 pm–7:15 pm - Buddhist sutra recitations / Incense burning
7:00 pm–8:30 pm - Release of mando lanterns on the river
7:30 pm–8:30 pm - Fireworks

• Both banks of the Yahagi River (along the embankment) to see the fireworks' launch site • South side of the Yonezu Bridge, near the road and looking upstream to watch the lanterns slow float down the river
