Hand-Held Fireworks Traditional to the Eastern Mikawa Area Are Set Alight Simultaneously

Hand-held fireworks, or "tezutsu hanabi," are bamboo tubes stuffed with gunpowder and carried under the arm as they send showers of sparks raining down on the people holding them. Great pillars of fire that can't be seen on such magnificent a scale elsewhere are blown 10 meters up into the air! Feel the power and energy of the hand-held fireworks accompanied by soul-stirring Japanese drumming at the Fire Festival in Toyohashi, the home of hand-held fireworks.
