The 2022 Ko Summer Festival will be limited to shrine rituals.

A Three-Day Festival with Handheld and Airborne Fireworks!

On the first day of the festivities, on the premises of the Ko Oyashiro Shrine, there is a marvelous display of the famous hand-held "Tezutsu Hanabi" fireworks cannons, roman candles and other sorts of pyrotechnic devices. Come back on the second day for a great show of 1,800 launched fireworks!

A Parade with Kabuki Dances and Jesters!

The four neighboring districts bring out each respective float for the procession / parade by the Oyashiro Shrine for the festivities. Beautifully dressed in traditional garments, the participants go dancing along to the music of the "hayashi" drums and flutes, carrying the "mikoshi" portable shrines around!
