Toyokawa-City Mt. Miyaji

  • Mt. Miyaji

Mt. Miyaji (宮路山 Miyajisan) in Toyokawa City is a great spot for hiking outings. It has a parking facilities (such as the Parking Lot #1 - 第一駐車場 Dai-ichi Chushajo) and a hiking path well maintained and virtually free of dangers which does not require much effort. In Autumn it is famous for the “Koaburatsutsuji” shrubs (Enkhiantus nudipes - Ericaceae), tinted in vivid colors. From Mt. Miyaji's peak it is possible to view all the surrounding area, including Mikawa Bay, Toyohashi Port, downtown Toyokawa and Toyohashi cities and, with some luck, even the Mt. Fuji at the distance. November is the time for the Mt. Miyaji “Momiji” Maple Festival.
