A colorful festival of light and sound
At this traditional two-day event on romantic Shinojima Island, the first day is reserved for the Gion Festival, with processions and rituals, and the Gion Festival Fireworks Show in the evening. The second day is marked by the Nojima Festival, a fishermen procession praying for safety and abundant catch, where the countless fishing boats go on parade along the island coast.
Notes:
• Boat Parade canceled for 2023. Festival held only on Saturday with fireworks that evening.
