A chance to touch and play with dolphins!

Dolphins and the chance to touch them are the main attraction of this event. With some luck, you may even get to watch them clapping their fins, doing somersaults or playing with balls, in a much more enjoyable and personal experience! Adults and kids alike will just be thrilled with this place!

Himakajima Dolphin Beach in 2019

• A - Dolphin Watching
Approach the dolphins and watch them at the netted area with guiding staff.
-From May 25 (Saturday) to September 23 (Monday - holiday).
-Daily from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM
-Reception only on the day.
-300 yen/guest (for all guests ages 3 or older).
* Children ages 3 to 6 must be accompanied by another guest at least 13 years old (also requires fee).
-On busy days. max. 70 guests/session and each session max. 30min.
-Dolphins at “Fureai” Beach are not on the net boxes so no tours or bathing allowed.

• B - Dolphin Touching
Get a lecture about dolphins at the beach, then move to the netted area and learn about the anatomy of those fascinating creatures. Then proceed to feed them and touch them!
-From May 25 (Saturday) to September 23 (Monday - holiday).
-Twice a day on weekdays, 3 times/day on weekends and holidays.
-7 times/day on July 13 (Saturday) and 14 (Sunday) (Gion Festival days).
-3 times/day from June 22 (Saturday) to July 12 (Friday), and from July 16 (Tuesday) to 19 (Friday).
* Suspended on July 1 (Monday) and 2 (Tuesday) for dolphin endoscopy health check.
-Twice a day on July 15 (Monday - holiday), and from July 20 (Saturday) to September 1 (Sunday).
-Reception only at the day (first come - first served basis).
-1,000 yen/guest (for all guests ages 3 or older).
* Children ages 3 to 6 must be accompanied by another guest at least 13 years old (also requires fee).
-25 guests/session, approx. 20min/session.

• C - “Fureai” Get-Close Beach Experience
After a lecture about dolphins at the beach, enter the water until the waist and get to touch the dolphins’ bellies after they are called to the shallow waters (no feeding allowed).

-From June 22 (Saturday) to September 23 (Monday - holiday).
-No sessions from July 12 (Friday) to 14 (Sunday) due to the Gion Festival.
-No weekday sessions in September.
-Twice a day on weekends and holidays from June 22 (Saturday) to July 11 (Thursday), July 16 (Tuesday) to 19 (Friday), and September 7 (Saturday) to 23 (Monday - holiday).
-3 times/day on weekdays from July 17th (Tuesday) to August 31st (Friday).
-5 times/day on July 15 (Monday - holiday), on weekends and holidays from July 20 (Saturday) to September 1 (Sunday), and everyday from August 3 (Saturday) to 18 (Sunday).
* Suspended on July 1 (Monday) and 2 (Tuesday) for dolphin endoscopy health check.
-RESERVATIONS REQUIRED, please call for inquiries and reservations.
-2,500 yen/guest (for all guests ages 5 or older).
* Children ages 5 to 6 must be accompanied by another guest at least 13 years old (also requires fee).
* Children ages 4 and younger are admitted free of charge when taken in the arms of a paying guardian adult (max. 1 toddler per adult).
-40 guests/session, approx. 25min/session.

    ・From Nagoya station, take the Meitetsu Kowa Line. Alight at Kowa station and 10 minutes walk to the Kowa Sea Port. At the Kowa Sea Port, take the Meitetsu Sightseeing Boat to Himakajima Port.
    ・From Toyohashi station, take the Toyotetsu bus. Alight at 'Irako-Misaki' stop and take the Meitetsu Sightseeing Boat to Himakajima Port. Alight at Kowa Station on the Meitetsu Kowa Line and walk for 10 minutes to Kowa Port. Take the Meitetsu Sightseeing Boat to Himakajima Port.
