In the weekends preceding and after the Hina Festival Day (March 3rd), households in the neighborhood of the famous Hina Dolls store Yoshihama Ningyo place their Hina decorations near the entrance so passers-by are able to enjoy all of them, in what is known as "Ningyo Komichi" (The Dolls' Alleys). Then, 15 local children selected in a draw are dressed in miniature traditional garments of old Japan and do a procession in the nearby streets. An extremely cute event to commemorate Girls' Day, in this renowned Dolls' Town!

Change or cancellation of events in 2022

[Cancelled] Children's Ohinasama Procession

Each year, little kids put on “hina” doll costumes and walk around the town at this popular event. The impressive procession of 15 children corresponds to a traditional “hina” doll display: a Otonosama Lord, an Ohimesama Princess, three court ladies, five court musicians, ministers of the left and right, and three guards.
