A vast park located at Mt. Akatsuka in Toyokawa-City, famous for its native plum tree orchard that occupies an area of 4,900 square meters inside the park, it is home to 281 plum trees of 25 species that start to blossom from early February until early March. Flowering begins with the early "Toji" and "Kankobai" varieties, going through the various types until the late-arriving "Bungo" and the weeping plum "Shidare." Among the most popular and sought-after ones are the "Kasugano" and "Omoinomama," both late-blooming and somewhat rare species that feature two-colored flowers, red and white, on the same tree!

Akatsukayama Park is also home to the Gyo Gyo Land Ani Ani Maaru facility, combining a simple aquarium and a mini zoo featuring small sea creatures and domestic animals, perfect for family outings.
