  • Nagoya Castle New Year‘s Event

A New Year countdown event under the majestic sights of Nagoya Castle with the Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-Tai and Princess Samurai of Japan as welcoming hosts! Both Tenshu-Kaku Tower (Donjon) and Honmaru Palace will be open the whole day, with the interior especially decorated with Japanese lanterns, creating a fantastic mood. On January 1st, 9:00 AM at the Main Gate, a traditional comedy stage of Owari-Manzai, followed by performances of the Samurai Teams, will celebrate the New Year's first opening of Nagoya Castle for the public. Adding to all this, on January 1st and 2nd, each day's earliest 500 visitors will be greeted with a decorative piece of the Chinese Zodiac, and on each day from January 1st to 3rd the first 400 visitors to get to the Kaya tree (Japanese nutmeg-yew) at Nishi-no-Maru will get a small baked sweet, the "Hissho! Kaya-no-Ki"("Certain Victory!" Nutmeg Tree) , believed to be a token for good fortune.
Step into both amazing Nagoya Castle and a prosperous New Year at once!
