The National Treasure “The Tale of Genji Illustrated Handscrolls” in the Tokugawa Art Museum collection is the oldest surviving illustrated version of the early eleventh-century narrative The Not only are the Tale of Genji scrolls the oldest scrolls to date and a treasure of the Tokugawa Art Museum collection but a national treasure as well. On exhibit for eight days, they show in detail the elegance of court life during the dynastic period of Japan. Each November, several scenes are selected from the scrolls for special display. This year features two scrolls.

• Allows admission to the exhibition rooms Tokugawa Art Museum and Hosa Library's exhibition room showing the Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Tokugawa Institute for the History of Forestry Special Exhibition.
• JPY 200 discount available for groups of 20 or more guests, and JPY 100 for others.
• Admission free of charge for elementary, junior high school, and high school students on Sat.
