Toyota-City May Obara Kabuki Performance

Date : 05/26/2024

  • May Obara Kabuki Performance

Obara Kabuki began as a form of theater at shrines during the middle of the Edo period in the Obara area of Toyota City as a means of amusement for agricultural villagers who had limited entertainment during their labor-laden lives. Even today, this tradition lives on thanks to those from the Obara Kabuki Preservation Society. Watch these incredible performances available twice a year in May and October at the Obaraza Hall.
