Watching Over the Town of Asuke, a Authentically Recreated Mountain Castle from the Warring States Period

The former Asuke Castle was where the Suzuki Clan of Asuke resided and expanded their influence by gaining dominion over powerful village leaders in the surrounding area. The original construction period of Asuke Castle is unknown, but the rebuilt Asuke Castle represents the last years of the castle in the style of the late 16th century. This is the first mountain castle in Japan to have been rebuilt based on excavations.
