The Toyokawa Citizen's Festival "Oiden-sai" is a large event that stops the city of Toyokawa for two days every year in late May. Besides being a local fair for companies and farmers to show their services and products, the festival has countless attractions and events around the several venues spread around the city. However, the main attraction is the three Yosakoi Dance Events that take place during the festival, for which the Oiden-sai become widely regarded as one of the major dancing festivals in Japan. Teams of dancers perform on several stages and the crowds of spectators, unable to resist the rhythm and dynamism, just simply join in and before you realize it everybody is dancing!

2023 Event:
On May 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun), the festival will be held for the first time in four years!
"Dance Festival 23" will feature the Yosakoi dance teams, and the "It's the Oiden Festival! Working Car Gathering!" event will bring together several utility and emergency vehicles. Finally, on the 28th (Sun), the "Ousama Sentai King Show" will be held!
Check also the stalls selling food and local produce, among others.

The Oiden-sai Festival is the merging of three traditional festivals that once were annually held in Toyokawa: Commerce Festival, Agriculture Festival and Greening Festival. A fact that largely explains the utter magnitude of the event: in 2015, an estimated 100,000 people, among dancers and audiences took part or the event.
