The Whole City of Ichinomiya Takes Part in a Great Open-Air Crafts Market & Fair!

This now huge event became a city-wide festival and originated from the idea of re-enacting the dynamism present at the "Miyaichi" markets which in olden times made the street in front of Masumida Shrine a lively and busy place. Renamed "Mori no Miyaichi" (lit. "Forest Miya Market"), it now extends from the south area of the shrine's grounds and the gate front square, to the entire length of the roofed shopping gallery arcades. These four areas denote the major types of merchants and activities. Artists and crafts people from all over Japan gather at this event to exhibit their skills. Guests may find an infinite numbers of items, such as original books, rare kinds of lumber and other materials for handicraft, a huge assortment of foods and beverages, activities, musical performances, and much more! Spend the whole day having lots of fun in Ichinomiya!
