Let's see some real fireflies this summer!

Estimated to be around 5,000 in number, the fireflies living on the marshes behind the Nankichi Niimi Memorial Museum start to stretch their wings with the arrival of the monsoon, swarming all around the place. So the museum hosts this two-day festival with lots of enjoyable events, such as a night museum, food and drink booths, reading sessions and more. Come and meet some of the creatures that were among those most beloved by Nankichi!

Date	: June 21st (Friday) and 22nd (Saturday), 2019 *: Outdoor events cancelled in case of inclement weather. Indoor events (Night Museum and Firefly Interaction Experience "Hotaru Fureai") will carry on as planned.

Access by public transport

From Nagoya Station, take the Meitetsu Kowa Line train bound for Agui Station, change trains to the same Meitetsu Kowa Line but to train bound for Utsumi Station, and alight at Handaguchi Station. Walk westwards 20min (1.4km) by Route 265.
Access by car

Approx. 3min (1.2km) eastwards from Chita-Chuo I.C. of the Chita Peninsula Toll Road (Chita-Hanto Doro).
