Enjoy Japanese Traditional Arts Like Noh and Kyogen in Front of the Main Gate of Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Noh Theater

With its exquisite Japanese architecture and elegant noh stage made entirely out of hinoki trees, Nagoya Noh Theater is the best place to go to appreciate Japanese traditional arts like noh and kyogen. Besides noh, the theater is also used as a venue for events like marriage ceremonies and international conferences. At the regular performances, which are held about six times a year, the theater offers earphone guides to the noh, in either Japanese or English. The exhibition room inside the building explains noh through materials and videos.

Restaurant <hōsa> opened on March 18th, 2022!

Newly opened within Nagoya Noh Theater near Nagoya Castle, restaurant <hōsa> connects Owari's food culture with the future.
Gathered together in the same facility for the first time, this new food spot features three long-standing brands: caterer Yaohikohonten and confectionaries Kasho Hanakikyo and Nagamukashi Nakamata, each with roots in Nagoya since the Edo period when the Owari Tokugawa family governed.
Enjoy a wide range of foods, starting with authentic multi-course meals known as kaiseki ryori, a novel version of Nagoya’s kishimen noodles, a beautiful Japanese-style afternoon tea, or genuine warabi mochi which is expertly hand-kneaded to order.
