Experience the Romantic Atmosphere of the Summer Night Aquarium

The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium will be open until 8:00 PM for their annual Summer Night Aquarium! With Nighttime Dolphin Performances at the North Bldg. Main Pool and dimmed illumination at the South Bldg. after 5:00 PM, the contrast of light and shadows turn the whole aquarium into a veritable blue world, and late comers get admission with discount! Come and enjoy a romantic and educative night at the Aquarium!

• Dolphin Performance
Place: North Bldg. 3rd Floor Stadium
Watch as the bottlenose dolphin rushes to the seated public and uses its tail fin to perform the "Dolphin Shower", spattering water in a dynamic manner! Come prepared to get a bit wet, or seat in the back seats! (Program is in Japanese.)

• Nighttime Dolphin Performance
Place: North Bldg. 3rd Floor Stadium
Uniquely different from the afternoon performance, experience a magical night dolphin performance from the romantically lit stands.

•Killer Whale Public Training
Place: North Bldg. 3rd Floor Stadium
As part of the public training, the killer whale will demonstrate powerful jumps and come up to the shallow part of the pool. Called the "King of the Seas," experience the impressive killer whale from close range.

• Tornado of Sardines
Place: South Bldg. Kuroshiro Tank
A whirlpool made up of 35,000 sardines, the illumination of the "Tornado of Sardines" tank uses six colors to create a whimsical "World of Rainbows."

• Romantic Aquarium
Place: South Bldg. 2nd Floor Sea of Japan, South Bldg. 1st & 2nd Floor Equatorial Sea
Beyond 5:00 PM, illumination in the South Building will be dimmed out as much as safely possible, so that the contrasting lights and shadows create a "Blue World" atmosphere. Enjoy the romantic "Night Aquarium"!

Notes : •Roads around the aquarium become prone to traffic jams and congestion in general during summer break and Obon holidays, so guests are kindly requested to please use public transportation as best as possible.

•Using the Nagoya Bus & Subway One-Day Passes (Ichi-Nichi Joshaken and Donichi-Ecokippu) and showing them at the box office entitles the guests to a 10% to 20% discount on admission. Discount also applies to additional 3-Facilities Common Pass to the Antarctic Research Ship Fuji, Observation Room, and Nagoya Maritime Museum.

    From Nagoya Station, take the subway Higashiyama Line bound for Sakae and Fujigaoka. Alight at Sakae Station and change trains for the subway Meijo Line bound for Nagoyako (Nagoya Port). Alight at Nagoyako Station and walk 5 min. southwestwards from Exit 3.

    ·From Komei I.C. of the Nagoya Expressway R4 Tokai Route:
    --Follow Egawa Route southwards for approx. 2km.
    ·From Meiko-chuo I.C. of the Isewangan Expressway:
    --Turn left upon exiting and follow and head northwards by the Kinjo Futo Route for 6.8km (14 min.). Turn right at Tsukijiguchi intersection and head southwards for 750m.
    · From Odaka I.C. of the Chitahanto Road:
    --Head northwards by Route 23 (a.k.a. Meishi, or Meyon Route) towards Yokkaichi for 6.8km (10 min.) and exit Tsukijiguchi IC. After 300m, turn left and after 100m turn left again. Head southwards 750m.
