Experience the romantic atmosphere of an aquarium at night this summer

The Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is open until 8:00 pm for their annual Summer Night Aquarium! With nighttime dolphin performances at the North Building's Main Pool and dimmed illumination at the South Building after 5:00 pm, the contrast of light and shadow turns the whole aquarium into a veritable blue world. Come and enjoy a romantic and educational night at the aquarium!

The Summer Night Aquarium event starts on Monday, July 17 (national holiday), and is then held then from Friday, July 21 to Thursday, August 31. During this period, the museum is open until 8:00 pm, and if you enter after 5:00 pm, you'll receive a 20% discount off the regular admission fee.

There are plenty of things that only the Night Aquarium offers, such as the creatures' nocturnal behavior and the relaxing sight of penguins as they slumber. The popular evening dolphin performance is also a must-see.

Come and enjoy the aquarium at night—a completely different experience from the regular daytime aquarium!

• Nighttime Dolphin Performance
Location: North Building 3rd floor Stadium
Uniquely different from the afternoon performance, experience a magical nighttime dolphin performance from the romantically lit stands.

• Orca Training
Location: North Building 3rd floor Stadium
As part of the training, the orca demonstrates powerful jumps and comes up to the shallow part of the pool. Experience the impressive orca—the king of the ocean—from close range.

• Tornado of Sardines
Location: South Building Large Kuroshio Tank
A tornado of 35,000 sardines whooshing around in a whirlpool. Silver scales glimmer as the sardines' ever-moving school swims throughout the tank.

• Romantic Aquarium
Location: South Building 2nd floor "Marine Life around Japan" exhibit–South Building 1st & 2nd floor "Tropical Marine Life"
After 5:00 pm, the South Building's lights are dimmed as low as they'll go, creating a blue world which plays with the contrast between light and shadow. Come enjoy the romantic Night Aquarium!
