The Authentic Spring Festival of Handa City With Its Impressive 31 Floats!

It is said that spring truly arrives in Handa-City when the Float Festival starts. Annually from late March to May 4th, each of the city's districts holds its own float festivity, painting the whole wide area with the vibrant colors of the gorgeous carriages and spring flowers!
Transmitted in the same form for over 300 years, the festival features the impressive 31 floats of Handa, all being displayed in parades and splashy maneuvers at key points along their courses.
Additionally, performances of Karakuri mechanized puppet dolls, Shishimai Lion Dances, and Mikomai Shrine Maiden Dances are all part of the countless attractions entertaining locals and tourists alike during eight weeks of exquisite traditional Japanese arts!
