The authentic spring festival of Handa City with its impressive 31 floats!

It is said that spring just really comes to Handa City when the Floats Festival starts. Annually from late March to May 4th, each of the city's districts hold its own float festivity, painting the whole wide area into the vibrant colors of the gorgeous carriages and spring flowers!
Transmitted in its from for over 300 years, the festival features the impressive 31 floats of Handa, all being displayed in parades and splashy maneuvers at key points along their courses.
Additionally, performances of Karakuri mechanized puppet dolls, Shishimai Lion Dances, Mikomai Shrine Maiden Dances, as well as other exquisite traditional arts, all are part of the countless attractions entertaining locals and tourists alike for eight weeks of pure traditional Japanese fantasy that foreigners visiting during the period cannot miss!
