A historic sake still alive with the essence of brewers of yore

As the old song goes, "Chita’s Handa is the town of breweries". The city of Handa boasts a history of more than 300 years of brewing culture. The Kunizakari Sake Museum is located inside a sake brewery just as it was while brewing rice wine for some 200 years until its closing in 1972.

A tasting corner sake enthusiasts just can't get enough of

Nakano Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. Kunizakari Sake Museum

This quaint sake brewery sports white plaster windows with latticework and massive black walls in traditional style. Within those walls, you can see just how the sake brewing process is done by Japanese paper mannequin displays and exhibits of traditional brewing tools and equipment. The architecture itself tells the history of sake brewing in the Tokai region.
And in this authentic and awe-inspiring atmosphere, visitors can also enjoy savory sake and plum wine tastings.

Deepen your knowledge of sake—a distinct culture of Japan

Sake is now the focus of much attention from overseas food connoisseurs. Visitors can learn about the process and history of sake brewing, a unique Japanese cultural tradition that Japan rightly boasts of, while achieving a profound knowledge of sake.
