Owariasahi City was certified for the first time on November 1, 2011 as the city with the largest number of “delicious tea shops” per capita in Japan.
As of November 1, 2021, 15 shops in Owariasahi City have been certified as "delicious tea shops," which make the city the number one in Japan, along with Nagoya City and Osaka City with the same number of such shops.
