A Hana Festival Beneath the Beautiful Autumn Skies

At Misono, the style of the festival is “Onyu-kei” (the other variations being “Furikusa-kei” and “Okochi-kei”), characterized by the drums played by ricochet, or rebounding, rather than just beating, and the performers dance on one leg with arms wide open to mimic the movements of the crane (bird). The festival goes throughout the night and visitors spend the whole night engaged with the festivities.
