"Janokuchi Hanabi", a fireworks with a tragic romance legend

Toyoishi Shrine, located at the eastern coast of the Chita Peninsula, is home to this festival themed on the fatidic legend of an impossible romance between a dragon's daughter and a mortal man. The "Snake-Mouth Fireworks" (Janokuchi Hanabi) is mounted on a beautifully decorated float and goes spewing fire around the streets, making for a magnificent and awesome sight. Around 100 different fireworks are used during the procession.
