One of the three Dengaku Festivals in the Mikawa region
On the second Saturday each February, this Dengaku Festival is held to pray for an abundant cereal harvest. The festival is made up of three parts—the Afternoon Dengaku, Night Dengaku, and Morning Dengaku. The Afternoon Dengaku comprises of religious rights and dances dedicated to the gods. The Night Dengaku entails entertainment performed as prayers for an abundant harvest, while the Morning Festival offers a bonfire with more dancing.
The Damine Dengaku Festival is designated a national important intangible folk cultural property and is one of the famous Dengaku Festivals of the Mikawa region together with Horaiji's and Kurosawa's festivals.
2024 plans for the unveiling of a rare Buddhist statue, Dengaku events, prayers, and showings of the Matsume Kannon Boddhisatva and Eleven-Faced Kannon Boddhisatva.
