Toyota-City Oidaira Park
The oh-so-beautiful Oidaira Park
Oidaira Park in Toyota City's Inabu area has historic ties to the former local and leading Furuhashi family, sake brewers active since the middle of the Edo period. Terunori, from the sixth generation of the family, aided villagers during the Tempo famine and built a local school, contributing greatly to the community. In recognition of his achievements, a memorial monument was constructed where the park is now and was maintained mainly by the Furuhashi family.
Currently, Oidaira Park is famous for its fall leaves, visible from the national route running alongside it. In June, you can watch fireflies gracefully flying to and fro—another reason why the park is so popular.
