Souvenirs and Nagoyameshi at Nagoya Station

At Nagoya Station, you can find many Nagoya culinary specialties known as "Nagoyameshi". The people of Nagoya have altered Japanese cuisine to create their own distinct food culture. "Hitsumabushi" recreates the Japanese favorite kabayaki eel in Nagoya style, "Kishimen" is flat udon noodles made with wheat flour, and "Miso-katsu" deep-fried tonkatsu with miso sauce.
Popular souvenir items are also available, including "Uiro", traditional steamed confectionery made with rice flour and sugar, "Piyorin", chick-shaped cakes whose popularity has exploded across Japan, and “Kaeru Manju”, buns filled with red bean paste in the shape of a frog’s head.
