Toyota-City Kojakuji Temple
Kojakuji is an ancient temple of the Soto school of Zen Buddhism in the center of Korankei, one of Japan’s most famous places for autumn leaves. In 1427 the temple was established on the remains of the Asuke family residence, the former feudal lords of this area. Maple trees and Japanese cedar grow thickly along the path leading to the temple, which is also a great spot for taking photos. Two Japanese cedar trees remain that are said to have been planted by Buddhist priest Sanei, the same person who originally began planting maple trees here.
