Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya.…An Airport and an Entertainment Complex!

The Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya, known simply as Centrair, is the world's gateway to Aichi. Located just 35km, or 28 minutes by train south of Nagoya City, Chubu Centrair International Airport Nagoya is a First Class international airport built on an artificial island off the coast of Tokoname in Ise Bay, and designed specifically with environmentally protective measures in mind. Centrair is serviced by air, rail, road and high-speed ferryboat.

Chubu Centrair International Airport

Opened in 2005, the multi award-winning airport has ranked within the top 5 of the World’s Best Airports, and was named the Best Regional Airport, 2020. The well designed T-shaped Terminal 1 allows for less than 300 meter walk to the boarding gates, and features duty free shopping, restaurants, even an observation hot spring where you can watch airplanes in flight! The 300 meter long outdoor Sky Deck is ideal for aircraft enthusiasts and those just wanting to watch the action of a major airport, from the refueling trucks and baggage handlers, to crews of mechanics preparing for the next flight, as well as the main attraction, the big planes taking off and landing! Currently around 40 carriers and cargo companies operate from the airport.

Aircraft and Entertainments

Chubu Centrair International Airport

Centrair’s Relaxation Plaza offers superb facilities, including the only Japanese style hot-spa with views of aircraft taking off and landing, and the sparkling waters of Ise Bay, too. (Temporarily closed) Further relaxing reflexology and head spas can be enjoyed in the Grand Raffine Refresh Salon. In between the departure and arrival gates, the Center Pier Garden is a unique and inviting indoor garden on the 1st and 2nd floors, ideal for relaxing.

Chubu Centrair International Airport

Shopping at Centrair is extensive too. Along with the obligatory duty-free and brand name shopping, there are restaurants, souvenir shops, boutiques, book stores, clothing outlets, drug stores and specialty shops on all four floors. Various events and entertainments are often staged in the 4th floor Event Plaza between the two Sky Town shopping areas, one of which is designed to invoke images of shopping and restaurants in a European village, while the other recreates an old Japanese town.

See a real plane from up close at FLIGHT OF DREAMS

FLIGHT OF DREAMS is an airplane theme park centered around an exhibition of the first ever Boeing 787.
The FLIGHT PARK on the first floor is a free area where visitors can experience aviation and airports while having fun. (Some contents require a fee.) The Exhibition Area is centered around an actual Boeing 787 aircraft and introduces the mechanism of airplanes and an overview of Centrair through movies and panels. The Kids Area is equipped with all kinds of playground equipment aimed at children between 0 to 12 years old, and kids can play close to a real airplane. In the SEATTLE TERRACE commercial area on the second and third floors, you can get a taste of Seattle—the birthplace of Boeing—while enjoying dining or shopping.

Centrair is the gateway to Aichi, and with all the shopping, relaxation spots, spas, gardens, restaurants and cafes, and so many things to do and see, you’ll soon discover Centrair is an airport and an entertainment complex in one!
