Higashi Park is home to around 1,500 maples and is the largest spot for enjoying the fall colors in the city of Okazaki. During the maple festival period, the park is lit up at night for a different atmosphere than that during the day. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the illumination period also offer delicious eats from food trucks.
The view from Ukimido Hall and harmony of the leaves and their reflection off the water are definitely worth seeing!
* Due to construction works on the area surrounding Ashinobe Pond, illumination light-up will not take place in 2022.
