Sasado Onsen Jinenjo Momiji Festival

Date : November(The middle ten days)

  • Sasado Onsen Jinenjo Momiji Festival

The 2021 Sasado Onsen Jinenjo Momiji Festival has been cancelled.

This maple leaves "Momiji Festival" is held in order to showcase the autumn leaves of Sasado Park, which has been cared and maintained for throughout long years by the townsfolk of the Sasado Onsen Promotion Association.

Asahi District's location among the mountains, with differences in altitude and climatic conditions, makes it colder than nearby areas, being ideal for cultivation of the Jinenjo wild yam. The natural environment makes the yam grown here very similar to the plants grown in the wild, being equivalent in taste, fragrance, stickiness and color. Although having started as "Asahi Jinenjo Festa" in 2004, the event was moved to the autumn season in order to be celebrated with the Maple Leaves Festival in 2008, and have been carried out as such ever since. See the gorgeous autumn colors of Sasado Park, taste the Asian specialty "Ginnan" ginkgo tree nuts and Jinenjo yam, listen to Taiko Japanese drum performances and stage events, enjoying the Sasado Autumn with all your senses!
