2021 Shibazakura Festival events have been cancelled.
Moss Pink Covering a Wide Slope as Far as the Eye Can See.
At an elevation of 1,358 meters, Mt. Chausu Plateau's Shibazakura-no-oka Hill has seven varieties of moss pink.
From May to June, the Shibazakura Festival (Moss Pink Festival) is held when the flowers are in full bloom. The pink, white, light blue, and purple flowers cover a hillside area of about 22,000 square meters.
You can take pictures among the flowers or from above while riding the sightseeing ski lift. Many visitors come to see the flower field that expands as far as you can see.
About the 2021 Shibazakura Festival
2021 Shibazakura Festival events have been cancelled after taking into account the current situation regarding novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infections and the current trend.
In connection with cancelled events, this year's shibazakura illumination is also cancelled.
During the shibazakura blooming period, facilities will operate as normal with infection prevention measures in place. Those visiting are also asked to cooperate with wearing a mask and other efforts to prevent the spread of infection.
