Moss Pink Covering a Wide Slope as Far as the Eye Can See.
At an elevation of 1,358 meters, Mt. Chausuyama Plateau's Shibazakura-no-oka Hill has six varieties of moss pink.
From May to June, the Shibazakura Festival (Moss Pink Festival) is held when the flowers are in full bloom. The pink, white, and purple flowers cover a hillside area of about 22,000 square meters.
You can take pictures among the flowers or from above while riding the ski lift. Many visitors come to see the flower field that expands as far as you can see.
Look for the many attractions being held during the festival period, such as local food kiosks, open-air concerts, and more.
2020 Shibazakura Festival events have been cancelled, including shibazakura illumination, street performers, mochi pounding, and mochi throwing. Mt. Chausuyama Plateau facilities are temporarily closed. One portion of facilities to reopen starting May 23, including the ski lift, parking lots, restrooms, Rest House Yahazu, and takeout food.
