A sculpture where moments before there was just a lonely log

Chainsaw art is said to have originated in Canada or the United States. It is an art form which consists of creating an object out of a log using a chainsaw.

Chainsaw art is said to have originated in Canada or the United States. It is an art form which consists of creating an object out of a log using a chainsaw. Toei Town has taken on the role of spreading chainsaw art in Japan, and holds a Japan Chainsaw Art Competition every year on the last Saturday and Sunday in May. Visitors can also enjoy trying chainsaw art for themselves, check out local produce fairs and more.

    From Toei Station of the JR Iida Line (board from Toyohashi Station, in turn reachable by JR Tokaido Main Line or Meitetsu Nagoya Line from Nagoya Station), take the Municipal Bus Toei Line, get off at Hongo (本郷) and walk 10min eastwards.

    At the Hamamatsu-Inasa Junction of the Shin-Tomei Expressway, change to the San-en-Nanshin Expressway. Upon exiting at Horaikyo I.C., head north by the Route 151 (Bessho Highway) for approx. 12.2km (15min) then turn right for the Toei Green House and Hanamatsuri Hall. Follow the road for 400m.
