A Collaboration of Floats and Fireworks

The festival of Yasaka Shrine is held annually for two days in late July, with Shijo (Shimoda) near Shinbashi Bridge the venue for this spectacular fireworks show. About 100 fireworks will be shot into the air, including star mines, hand-held fireworks, and kingyo goldfish fireworks. Floats parading along the streets add to the festive air.
