The 2021 Akiba Festival & Fireworks have been cancelled.

A Festival to Recollect Chiryu City's Autumnal Traditions

In the Akiba Festival, groups of youngsters from the six towns parade around the streets while carrying Tamabako wooden chests on their shoulders and singing Nagamochiuta songs. In the evening, each group enters Chiryu Shrine in turns, and make the offering of tezutsu hand-held cannon fireworks in a courageous act. Regular airborne fireworks are shot in between each tezutsu ritual.
