Wear In, Play Out, Fight On! A Samurai & Ninja Mega-Event With Tons of Fun for The Whole Family!

Aichi Prefecture is the Home of the Samurai, where countless important samurai of the Sengoku Warring States Period were born, including the three utterly famous Heroes of Japan's Toitsu Unification: Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu! At this "Homeland of the Samurai", the Samurai & Ninja Festival 2017 will be a great event themed on all things Samurai, where kids can dress as Ninjas and become one at the "Narikiri" Experience, take part at the Chanbara Samurai Battle Reenactment with foam swords, watch thrilling live fire matchlock demonstrations, live stages of ninja and samurai teams and much more. Guaranteed tons of fun for the whole family!


Gyoretsu March of The Great Samurai and Kachidoki Victory Shout

Samurai and ninja teams, as well as military and armor groups from across the nation, all gathered for a glorious parade of pride and pomp. A great cry of victory will then be carried out with the participation of the parade characters and the spectator public.

Hoyo-jutsu Falconry Techniques Performance

Samurai & Ninja Festival 2017

Said to be a practice beloved by both Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu, watch the amazing demonstrations of Hoyo falconry with birds of prey, or raptors. You may even get close to those amazing hunting birds and have them take off or land in your own arm!

Chanbara Toy Swords Battle

Samurai & Ninja Festival 2017

The expansive field will be divided in the armies of East and West, and they will fight with soft foam swords. A safe and fun battle experience to learn samurai battle history that kids and adults can enjoy together. Apply on the day at the venue!

Hinawaju Matchlock Live Fire Demonstration

Live fire performance show of Hinawaju matchlock arquebuses by the Aichi Prefecture Old Gunnery Research Society. Wearing Warring States Period livery and armor, the group will demonstrate a variety of types of weapons that both instigate the curiosity for these historic relics and make the soul tremble with their deafening blasts!

Kachu Armor Troops Stage

Several armored groups of Aichi get to the stage and entertain the public with a show of martial acrobatics and dance performances.

An impressive demonstration of Aichi's peculiar and ancient martial art Bo-no-Te, the "Hand of Pole" (also known as "Hand of Stick" or "Hand of Bar").

Wear ninja costumes, throw shuriken weapons and blow darts, strike ninja poses for photos, dive into the ninja world! Wildly popular among the smaller kids, this attractions makes its way to Odaka Greens!

Stamp Rally

Two treasure hunt activities using the smartphone app "Aichi Sengoku Meguri" (愛知戦国巡り) (Japanese language only).

•Sengoku Aichi Stamp Rally
Tour at least 3 (three) of the 20 participating "Samurai Birthplace Sightseeing Spots of Aichi" and collect the stamps with the app. At the festival venue, a draw will give prizes to 500 of the participant winners.
Period: From October 1st (Sunday) to December 26th (Tuesday)

•Samurai & Ninja Festival Stamp Rally
Scavenge around the venue looking for the QR Codes spread in key locations, read them using the app and show the screen at the reception booth to win post cards and other interesting goods.
