A peaceful hot spring wrapped in greenery at the foothills of Mt. Sangane where you can see Mikawa Bay in the distance. The spring has an alkaline simple quality which makes it smooth on the skin, and it has beneficial effects on neuralgia and gastrointestinal pain. Ajisai Matsuri, a hydrangea festival, is held at Ajisai no Sato, Katahara Onsen every June, and sees 50,000 hydrangeas in full bloom. You can enjoy the night light spectacle at your leisure, if you stay in one of the hot spring inns.
