Komaki Castle is a small but historically important castle built by warlord Oda Nobunaga in 1563 during his expansionist efforts. In Spring, its famed Cherry Blossom Festival takes place, filling the premises with crowds of people enjoying the gorgeous sakura blooming everywhere.
In the two days of the festival, especially installed illumination lit up the flowers from 6 PM to 9 PM making for added beauty, and the museum inside the castle operate for extended hours.
Activities for the kids and guided tours will enhance your experience even further.

-Prior demarcation of space before the event (basho-tori) is not allowed.

    15min westwards walk from Komaki Station of the Meitetsu Komaki Line.
    -Either board from Heiandori Station of the subway Meijo Line (reachable from Nagoya Station by subway Higashiyama Line to Sakae, then changing trains to the subway Meijo Line in the clockwise direction) (39min ride - all train changes included - 570 yen), or;
    -From Meitetsu Nagoya Station take the Inuyama Line train bound for Inuyama, then change trains in Inuyama to the Komaki Line (51min ride - changing trains in Inuyama included - 790 yen).
