A famous form of acrobatics mixed with martial arts, the Bo-no-Te (lit. "Hand of Pole" or "Hand of Stick"), once called Bojutsu, or "The Art of the Pole," is still performed during specific festivals around Aichi Prefecture. Every year at the Tanuki-cho Shinmei-sha Shrine in Nishio-City, a festival is held with demonstrations of this unique technique, which is designated as an Aichi Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Heritage.

    From the bus platforms at the West Side of Nishio Station of the Meitetsu Nishio Line (board the Meitetsu Nagoya Line bound for Kira-Yoshida Station from Meitetsu Nagoya Station - in case of boarding the Meitetsu Nagoya Line bound for Chiryu and Toyohashi, you may need to change trains at Shin-Anjo Station), take the Rokumankoku Kururin Bus (六万石くるりんバス) Heisaka-Nakahata Line (平坂中畑線), get off at Nakabata Elementary School North (中畑小北 Nakabata Sho-Kita) and walk 4 min. northwards.
